ANCIENT HEART

Heart of a great forest, soul of a million trees
An enormous old oak is standing still
Since the oldest ages over centuries
He has always stood guardian of the wood

But now something is threatening all the trees
People with strange cars, people with the guns
He knows the drought the fire and the flood but all this not

“I am so tired out” said the old tree “what does it happen to me?
I’ve fought for so long during my life, for this ill what can I do?
I am so tired out” said the old tree “what does it happen to me?
For thousand years I took care of trees, how can I face this disease?
Since the beginning we bring the life giving the world the fresh air
And our people made what you call home
Giving you a shelter from the storm”

From the oldest ages over centuries

He knows the earthquake, the hurricane, the rain
It seems really insane
